Hello world,
Almost a week since my last post. So much for consistency.
Sorry about that!
This week, I’ve been looking back at these past 4 years and my relationship with Notion.
Not because I’m feeling nostalgic, but because as I pivot to full-time community building, I thought it was essential to finally properly document the story of the Notion France community.
And boy oh boy, I was in for a treat.
Sometimes I forget just how much Notion as changed both as a tool and as a company.
It grew exponentially in all aspects.
I found a Linkedin post where I was announcing the launch of synced blocks.
What do you mean there was a time I was using Notion and synced blocks weren’t a thing?!
Honestly, I know I say that a lot but time has passed by so fast since 2020, and so much has happened, that whatever is not being recorded in some way will just disappear into the depths of my mind.
Sometimes I just can’t believe that creating a super simple site based on Notion led to creating a global community alongside Mélanie Carrière & Amity Clémence (who were managing the previously existant Facebook group), which then led to me forcing Notion’s hand to be able to organize in-person events again (Covid put a hold to meetups), to hosting the 1rst meetup in Paris mid/post-Covid, to getting a contract as France Community Lead and organizing >10 meetups and 40 webinars.
It’s just…. surreal sometimes.
Our very first meetup as “Notion France” in Paris in Qonto’s offices, october 2021.
Especially when I now see from afar just how important France has become as a market for Notion, as we can see with events such as this week’s Make With Notion Paris Showcase, which was followed by a meetup organized by Lou Attal, Jean-Baptiste Rogé and Shubham Sharma.
To see Notion’s team presence in France, including Ivan himself, is pretty awesome! ✨
Anyway, I’m not sure where I want to go with this post, except that I would love for this to inspire you!
Follow your heart, do what feels right, and keep doing it for as long as it makes you feel alive.
You’ll meet interesting people along the way and you’ll also probably develop skills you had no clue you could develop.
So as a certain brand would say… “Just do it!”
With love,
Camille
