Making the right choice

Hello world,

I’m a libra. Libras are famous for stuggling to make choices.
Whether or not we believe in astrology, it sure always did apply to me.
I’ve felt paralized by choice one time too many. Just like a deer staring at front lights.
Yet while having conversations with other people, apparently I appear to be someone who’s confident in her decision making and can make bold choices.
Honestly every time someone tells me something like this it feels so strange, because it truly doesn’t feel like this to me.
Every choice is carefully made, every option analyzed, imagined, weighted in.

I can admit that I’ve made some bold changes and choices in my life before.
That much is true.
And they might have appeared easily made, yet I wouldn’t call it easy but obvious.
Each big choice I’ve made in the past was a choice that felt like an urge, an obligation, an evidence.
Even when it involved turning my life around, or maybe especially in those moments.

I’m as much of an overanalyzer as I am very in tune with my intuition.
They each take turn in decision making ; but I’ll admit that my intuition tends to have the last word.
So far, it’s always been proving successful!
I can only encourage you to start trusting your intuition and following it along.
Obviously if you’ve never done that much before, start small.
Just like everything else, it requires constant fine-tuning that develops over time the more you decide to follow your gut.

When my intuition is silent, and I have to rely on logic, I’ll use tools like pro & cons lists, or the decisional balance to help me figure out what I should do.
In those moments, I’m really not a risk-taker.
Alas, I am in general risk-adverse.
Yet I know deep down that taking risks is necessary to evolve & grow outside of your comfort zone — often times there’s more comfort on the other side of that risk than in that zone itself.
Playing it safe often blocks us from growing as a person.
We’re stuck in the same place, doing the same thing over and over.

I’m not saying you have to change everything constantly ; but we shouldn’t grow too comfortable in a certain setting.
Change being a constant element in life, it’s important to remain flexible and adaptable.

Like that infamous saying:
The bamboo that bends with the wind is stronger and more resilient than the oak tree that resists.

Sometimes, the right choice doesn’t look like one at first.
Sometimes it’s terrifying to think about.
Sometimes it seems to big, too daring, too radical.

It’s ok. Fear is a normal emotion. But fear is there to keep us safe, not to help us evolve.
Write down your fears, write down what you could do to mitigate the potential undesired results of making that choice and what you could do to fix it.
Write down in details what would have to happen for that catastrophic end-result to become real.
Many times you’ll see that while our brain is trying its best to keep us safe and alive, it can sometimes be completely off in terms of perceived threat VS actual threat.

And just like that intuition, you’ll eventually learn how to decipher the realistic from the perceived, and be more confident making choices knowing that at the end of the day, the end result doesn’t solely depend on us.

So try to be as aligned as you can with yourself and let time do the rest.
